Pedestrian Crash on 16th Street Left Man Critically Hurt [Phoenix, AZ]

Phoenix, AZ (December 25, 2025) — Early Wednesday morning, a man suffered life-threatening injuries after a pedestrian crash on 16th Street in south Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police, the crash happened at 16th Street and Broadway Road just before 7 a.m.

Officers arrived to find the pedestrian critically injured in the roadway.

Firefighters transported him to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The driver involved remained at the scene, and investigators do not believe impairment contributed to the crash. Police temporarily shut down the intersection in all directions while crews worked and detectives began the investigation. The roadway later reopened.

The cause of the collision remains under review.
