Two Drivers Injured in Head-On Collision Near Moreno Valley

Moreno Valley, CA (July 28, 2026) — On Monday afternoon, a head-on crash on Alessandro Boulevard east of Moreno Valley left two drivers injured, including one who sustained major injuries.

The collision happened around 4:43 p.m. at the intersection with Gilman Springs Road, about half a mile south of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said a sedan and a pickup truck collided head-on for reasons that remain under investigation. Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived at the scene ahead of CHP officers and began rescue efforts.

Emergency responders quickly removed one driver from the wreckage with serious injuries. The second driver was trapped inside the vehicle for more than 20 minutes before crews safely extricated them. That driver suffered minor injuries.

Paramedics transported both motorists to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where officials reported they were in stable condition.

The crash forced a partial closure of the intersection as investigators worked to determine what caused the collision.
