Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Guerneville

Guerneville, CA (May 7, 2025) — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash on Armstrong Woods Road in Guerneville left a pedestrian dead Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded shortly after 1:50 p.m. to the intersection of Armstrong Woods Road and Highway 116 for reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

Investigators said a Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on First Street and turning left onto Highway 116 when it hit a pedestrian crossing the roadway. Authorities noted that the crosswalk signal had been activated before the collision occurred.

Emergency crews transported the victim to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with severe injuries. CHP later confirmed the pedestrian died Tuesday night. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity.

Authorities said the driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested on DUI-related and additional charges. He was later booked into the Sonoma County Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
