Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Bandera Road Involving Rideshare Vehicle
San Antonio, TX (March 14, 2026) – 35-year-old Darlene Ibarra died after a vehicle struck her Saturday afternoon while she was advertising with a sign on the Northwest Side in a crash on Bandera Road.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the collision happened just after 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of Bandera Road.
A preliminary SAPD report identified the victim as Darlene Ibarra, 35.
Investigators said an Uber driver was traveling southbound on East Quill Drive and attempted to turn westbound onto Bandera Road.
During the turn, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and went over the sidewalk.
Police at the scene said the driver accidentally accelerated while turning.
Authorities said Ibarra was standing on the corner of Bandera Road advertising with a sign when the vehicle struck her.
Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
Officials said the rideshare driver is cooperating with investigators and is not expected to face charges at this time.
The investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
