2 People Hospitalized After Crash on Black Lake Boulevard Southwest

Black Lake, WA (September 25, 2024) – On Tuesday, two people sustained injuries in a crash on Black Lake Boulevard Southwest.

A driver fleeing from a deputy crashed a stolen truck into another vehicle near Black Lake on Tuesday, injuring themselves and others. 

The crash occurred shortly after 7:20 p.m. near the intersection of Black Lake Boulevard Southwest and Black Lake Belmore Road, according to a Thurston County Sheriff’s Office news release. 

The stolen truck hit a southbound vehicle and came to rest on its side against a power pole.

First responders transported the driver of the stolen truck to a hospital. The driver is suspected of attempting to elude, possession of a stolen vehicle, and vehicular assault. 

Two occupants of the vehicle that was struck were also hospitalized with injuries.

Witnesses reported that a female passenger in the stolen truck briefly tried to flee the scene and asked witnesses to lie about her involvement. 

Earlier that day, Olympia police had been searching for the stolen truck. A deputy spotted it in west Olympia and began a pursuit but lost track when the driver sped away too quickly. 

The deputy discovered the crash after rounding a corner near Black Lake Belmore Road.
