PHOENIX, AZ (December 24, 2025) — A serious crash on Camelback Road involving a Phoenix police cruiser sent two officers and another driver to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred just after 1 a.m. near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Camelback Road, close to Interstate 17. 

Authorities say the driver of a civilian vehicle attempted a left turn and collided with the marked police vehicle, causing it to roll onto its side.

Emergency responders arrived promptly, and all three individuals — the two officers and the other driver — were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The force of the crash left both vehicles severely damaged, with the patrol car lying on its side at the scene.

Camelback Road was shut down for several hours while crews investigated and cleared the wreckage. It reopened shortly before 6 a.m.

Phoenix police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether speed, impairment, or distraction played a role.
