Tragic Crash on Collingsworth Street Kills Bicyclist

Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Collingsworth Street in Houston

Houston, TX (March 6, 2026) — Early Wednesday morning, a bicyclist lost his life after a multi-vehicle crash on Collingsworth Street in Houston.

Authorities, say that the collision happened around 12:55 a.m. in the 1700 block of Collingsworth Street.

Reports say that the bicyclist was traveling northbound across the westbound lanes when a black BMW 535i struck him.

The impact threw the rider onto the roadway. A second vehicle then struck the bicyclist and fled the scene, leaving the victim critically injured.

Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly after the crash and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity as authorities work to notify family members.

The 60-year-old driver of the BMW remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities determined the driver did not show signs of impairment.

Police are actively searching for the driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
