Child Among Several Injured After Head-On Collision on CR A-12 Near Grenada

Grenada, CA (March 8, 2026) — On Wednesday morning, a child suffered major injuries along with two drivers after a head-on crash on County Road A-12 near Ralston Road in Siskiyou County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 9:25 a.m. when a gold Ford Transit van traveling eastbound suddenly crossed into the opposite lane and struck a blue Ford Escape head-on. The violent impact left several people injured, including young passengers riding in the vehicles.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and treated the victims at the scene before transporting them to Fairchild Medical Center. Authorities reported that both drivers and one child sustained major injuries. Another child suffered minor injuries, while a third child was unharmed.

Witnesses and passing motorists helped the victims before first responders arrived. Deputies from the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, along with firefighters and medical crews from multiple local agencies, assisted with rescue and medical care.

Investigators continue to review what caused the van to veer into the oncoming lane.
