Four Vehicles Involved in Chain-Reaction Crash on East 7th Street in Joplin
Joplin, MO (May 21, 2025) — A four-vehicle chain-reaction crash on East 7th Street slowed traffic Monday afternoon and prompted emergency crews to the scene.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 3 p.m. after reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer and a newly issued mail truck.
According to the Joplin Police Department, all four vehicles were traveling westbound on East 7th when the crash occurred inside the construction area.
Joplin Fire Department personnel, police officers, and METS Ambulance crews assisted at the scene. Authorities said all four vehicles sustained enough damage to require towing.
Multiple towing companies worked to clear the roadway and remove the damaged vehicles from the construction zone.
Officials have not released information regarding possible injuries or the cause of the crash.
When you’re behind the wheel, remember—you’re not alone out there. Every time you drive, you’re part of a community that shares the road. That’s why it’s so important to stay alert, drive responsibly, and respect others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you; it keeps your loved ones, neighbors, and even total strangers safe too.
If we all do our part—slow down, stay focused, and avoid distractions—we can make the roads safer for everyone.
And don’t forget the simplest safety tip of all: always buckle up. Whether you’re the driver or a passenger, wearing your seatbelt is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent serious injury in a crash. Sweet Lawyers encourages everyone to make it a habit—every trip, every time.
Drivers should use extra caution when traveling through construction zones, where changing traffic patterns and reduced space can increase the risk of serious accidents. Staying alert and maintaining a safe following distance can help prevent chain-reaction crashes.
