2-Vehicle Crash on Grand Avenue Left Person Hospitalized [Surprise, AZ]

Surprise, AZ (March 4, 2026) — A crash on Grand Avenue near the border of Surprise and El Mirage left one person hospitalized Monday morning after a pickup truck collided with a semi-truck.

The collision occurred just before 10 a.m. near Grand Avenue and Greenway Road. Authorities reported that the force of the impact caused the semi-truck to overturn, blocking all northwest-bound lanes of Grand Avenue. The pickup truck suffered significant front-end damage, including to its hood and grille.

Emergency responders transported one individual to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Officials expect the victim to recover. No other injuries were reported.

Crews worked for nearly three hours to clear the wreckage. By shortly before 1 p.m., they had moved the overturned semi-truck to the shoulder and reopened the intersection. Police from El Mirage assisted Surprise officers as they investigated the cause of the crash.
