Chain-Reaction Crash on Highway 195 Results in Injuries [Killeen, TX]

Three Injured in Four-Vehicle Collision on Highway 195 in Killeen

Killeen, TX (May 16, 2025) — On Friday morning, three people suffered injuries following a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Highway 195 in Killeen, authorities said.

According to the Killeen Police Department, officers responded around 7:51 a.m. to the intersection of State Highway 195 and Chaparral Road.

Investigators said all four vehicles were traveling north in the inside lane of SH 195 when the driver of a maroon sedan reportedly failed to control speed and rear-ended a gray sedan. The impact pushed the gray sedan into a gray SUV, which then struck a black sedan ahead of it.

Emergency crews transported three people to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

Police continue to investigate the crash.

Defensive driving is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of multi-vehicle accidents. Staying alert, following traffic laws, and anticipating the actions of other drivers can make a significant difference on the road.

Just as important, keeping your vehicle in top condition helps ensure everyone’s safety. Make it a habit to check your tires, brakes, mirrors, oil, brake fluid, and air filters regularly. A well-maintained car not only prevents breakdowns but can also save lives.

Let’s all do our part to prevent incidents.

Following too closely and failing to control speed can lead to serious chain-reaction crashes. Drivers should maintain a safe following distance and remain attentive to changing traffic conditions to help prevent multi-vehicle collisions.
