Farmington Driver Seriously Injured in Crash at U.S. 67 Intersection
St. Francois County, MO (March 25, 2026) — On Sunday Evening, a 38-year-old driver from Farmington suffered serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 67 in St. Francois County.
The collision happened around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 67 and Hildebrecht Road when the Farmington man pulled into the intersection and entered the path of an oncoming vehicle. The impact struck the side of his car, leaving him critically hurt.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The other driver, a 48-year-old man from O’Fallon, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Parkland Health Center.
Investigators noted that the severely injured driver was not using a safety restraint at the time of the crash, while the other motorist was properly restrained. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were removed from the scene.
Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents
Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.
Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.
Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.
Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.
When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.
Wearing a seatbelt can greatly reduce the risk of severe injury in a crash. Always buckle up and stay alert at intersections, where failure to yield can lead to life-threatening collisions.
