Semi-Truck Collision Triggers Brush Fire Near I-15 in San Bernardino, One Injured
San Bernardino, CA (December 15, 2025) — A big rig crash on Interstate 15 Saturday afternoon, involving two semi-trucks, sparked a brush fire and left a person hurt.
According to authorities, the shocking incident happened near the northbound Interstate 15 in the Devore area, leading to a large emergency response.
Reports say that the collision occurred near I-15 and Kenwood Avenue after at least one of the trucks caught fire. Flames spread up a nearby embankment and moved toward nearby homes, prompting fire officials to upgrade the response to a second alarm as crews worked to protect structures.
Firefighters stopped the forward spread of the fire at about four acres by 1:44 p.m. Officials confirmed that no buildings were damaged. One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the trucks were hauling non-hazardous materials, though diesel fuel contributed to the fire. Crews temporarily closed the northbound truck bypass while conducting air drops and cleanup operations.
