Multi-Car Crash on Interstate 35 Under Investigation [Liberty, MO]

Liberty, MO (August 6, 2026) — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 involving a semi-truck forced the closure of the northbound side of the interstate on Monday morning and left at least one person injured.

Authorities said the collision happened shortly after 10 a.m., about a mile north of U.S. Highway 69. The crash involved a semi-truck and three passenger vehicles. Following the impact, the semi spilled oil across the roadway, creating additional hazards for motorists.

Emergency crews from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and fire departments in Liberty and Kearney responded to the scene to assist those involved and manage the roadway.
