Two People Hospitalized After Crash on Interstate 44 in Crawford County

Crawford County, MO (April 1, 2026) – Two people suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 44 on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the collision happened at about 12:35 p.m. on Interstate 44 near mile marker 201.4. According to the crash report, a 2021 Hyundai Palisade moved into another lane and struck a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500.

After the impact, both vehicles traveled off the left side of the roadway. The Dodge overturned, while the Hyundai hit cable barriers in the median.

Authorities said the 50-year-old driver of the Dodge, a man from Kansas City, suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. 

The driver of the Hyundai was not injured, but a 13-year-old passenger in the vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was also transported to a hospital by ambulance.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
