2-Car Crash on Interstate 55 Injures Poplar Bluff Man [New Madrid County, MO]

New Madrid County, MO (January 21, 2026) — A man from Poplar Bluff suffered serious injuries early Monday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 in New Madrid County. The collision occurred around 12:36 a.m. near the 49-mile marker.

According to the report, a 2015 Nissan Sentra traveling northbound left the right side of the roadway and struck a parked 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The 21-year-old driver of the Sentra sustained serious injuries and required air transport to Regional One Health in Memphis.

The Tahoe’s driver, a 35-year-old man from Dexter, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment.
