18-Year-Old Florissant Driver Dies After Vehicle Goes Airborne in I-70 Crash
St. Louis County, MO (February 16, 2026) — On Friday afternoon. an 18-year-old man from Florissant lost his life in a violent crash on Interstate 70 in north St. Louis County.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. near Bermuda Drive. Investigators said the teen was on a southbound vehicle on Bermuda Drive, when the car left the roadway, went airborne, and landed on the westbound lanes of I-70.
Reports say that the vehicle continued moving before slamming into a concrete median barrier. Another driver traveling on I-70 then collided with the driver’s side of the disabled vehicle, causing it to catch fire. Debris from the initial impact scattered across the eastbound lanes, where three additional vehicles struck the wreckage.
Emergency medical crews arrived within minutes but pronounced the young man dead at the scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
