Alan Garcia Arrested After Crash on John Wayne Parkway in Maricopa
Maricopa, AZ (May 23, 2024) – On May 17, Maricopa police responded to reports of a man thrown from his bicycle after being hit in a crash on John Wayne Parkway.
Police charged a man with driving under the influence after he allegedly hit a bicyclist with his vehicle on a major road in Maricopa.
Witnesses at the scene told police that the driver, later identified as 31-year-old Alan Garcia, left the scene.
Maricopa police officers eventually located Garcia, and when they pulled him over, he allegedly showed signs of impairment.
When police questioned Garcia about the incident involving the rider, he did not respond and instead stared straight ahead, appearing “lost,” according to the police report.
A check on Garcia’s records showed his license had been previously revoked for driving under the influence.
Police arrested Garcia for aggravated DUI, DUI (drugs), aggravated assault, hit-and-run, driving with a revoked license, and causing an accident involving injury.
