Hit-and-Run Crash on North Frontage Road Suspect At-Large [Grant County, WA]

Grant County, WA (July 18, 2026) — Authorities are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash on North Frontage Road that injured a Grant County road worker early Thursday morning.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 5:10 a.m. on North Frontage Road, about one mile east of Dodson Road. The worker was part of a county road crew preparing the roadway for chip-sealing when an SUV struck them.

Investigators said the driver briefly stopped after the collision to check on the injured worker but left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Emergency responders transported the injured employee to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment. Officials have not released the extent of the worker’s injuries.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a lifted late-1980s to early-2000s Jeep Cherokee (XJ) with teal and gray camouflage paint, oversized tires, and a bright orange safety whip flag. Investigators also recovered what appears to be part of the vehicle’s front grille at the crash scene.

Authorities said the driver has long hair, but investigators have not determined the person’s gender. The investigation remains ongoing as deputies work to identify and locate the suspect.
