Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Rock Island in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX (March 12, 2026) — An infant died after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on Rock Island Street and Azle Avenue, according to police.

Officers responded to a major collision on March 7 at Rock Island Street and Azle Avenue. Investigators believe the driver of one of the vehicles ran a stop sign and crashed into another car.

Police said the infant was not restrained at the time of the collision. The impact ejected the child from the vehicle and caused serious injuries. 

The baby was taken to a hospital, where the child later died.

Authorities also said the mother suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

After receiving treatment at a local hospital, officers arrested her and booked her into jail.

Officials have not yet released the mother’s name or said what charges she may face.

The investigation remains ongoing.
