Children Transported in Lakewood Vehicle Collision
Lakewood, WA (April 20, 2026) – A 2-vehicle crash on S 84th Street Tuesday has injured several people.

The two vehicles caught fire and the Tahoe rested next to a house. Flames melted the exterior siding but did not spread inside, and one in the house was hurt.
Five people, including an adult female passenger with a serious head injury, two children under 10 who were seated the back seat, and the Tahoe’s driver, were hospitalized.
Moreover, the rescuers also transported the Subaru driver, a man in his 20s, to the hospital.
The medical team also treated an additional person at the scene.
Troopers stated there is no signs of DUI, though speed may have played a role in the collision.
In the meantime, LPD is investigating the cause of the collision.
Millions of people take to the roads for work, school, errands, or leisure. While many of these trips are uneventful, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. Traffic accidents can change lives in an instant, causing physical injuries, emotional trauma, and financial hardship.
Wearing your seatbelt is the simplest and most effective way to protect yourself in an accident. It can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by up to 50%.
Similarly, texting, talking on the phone, eating, or doing anything else that takes your eyes off the road for even a second can have disastrous consequences. Keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.
Always drive cautiously and be aware of road conditions to prevent accidents. Quick and safe responses can save lives in emergencies.
Intersection crashes can happen in seconds and often leave multiple people hurt. Always approach crossings with caution, follow traffic signals, and stay alert to reduce the risk of serious injuries.
Life After a Traffic Accident
The effects of a traffic accident often go far beyond the moment it happens. Even after vehicles are removed from the road, the consequences can linger. Injuries may range from minor cuts and bruises to severe, life-altering trauma. In addition to physical pain, many victims face emotional stress, mental strain, and financial challenges that can make recovery even more difficult.
