Vista, CA (November 17, 2025) — A deadly crash on South Melrose Drive Friday evening, claimed the life of a pedestrian.

According to authorities, the horrific pedestrian crash happened around 8:14 p.m. Deputies responded and found the victim lying in a northbound lane.

Paramedics attempted life-saving measures before taking the person to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m.

The driver of the Toyota stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said impairment did not appear to contribute to the crash.
