Passenger Injured in Deadly Motorcycle Crash on South Tacoma Way [Lakewood, WA]

Lakewood, WA (November 6, 2025) — A female passenger was injured in following a deadly motorcycle crash on South Tacoma Way Tuesday.

According to the Lakewood Police Department, a police pursuit that began in Burien ended in tragedy. Reports say that a motorcyclist crashed and died near the intersection of South Tacoma Way and 100th Street SW in Lakewood.

King County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the motorcyclist, who was believed to be a domestic violence suspect riding a stolen bike. The rider fled south on Interstate 5, leading deputies through multiple jurisdictions before losing control and striking a “Welcome to Lakewood” sign.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His female passenger sustained critical injuries and was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma for emergency treatment.

Authorities shut down South Tacoma Way between 96th and 100th Streets as investigators processed the scene. Lakewood Police are now leading the investigation into the fatal crash.
