Taylor Tovoli Arrested after Crash on State Route 7 in Pierce County

Pierce County, WA (December 29, 2023) – On Friday night, a pedestrian died, and a child sustained injuries in a crash on State Route 7.

Reportedly, a 26-year-old woman, identified as Taylor Tovoli of Tacoma, is confronting multiple charges following a fatal crash in Spanaway on Friday night, where she collided with a pedestrian, resulting in the pedestrian’s death. 

Both Tovoli and her 5-year-old passenger were transported to the hospital.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to the incident just before 10 p.m., following reports of a car crashing into a shipping container on SR-7 near 208th St. E. 

Upon arrival, troopers discovered the lifeless body of a 47-year-old Lakewood woman at the crash site.

Tovoli, the driver, sustained injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, while her 5-year-old passenger was transported to Mary Bridge Hospital. 

The conditions of both individuals are currently unknown.

WSP investigators determined that Tovoli was traveling northbound on SR-7, approaching 208th St., when the collision occurred with the 47-year-old pedestrian who was walking in the same lane. 

Following the impact, Tovoli veered off the roadway, entered a parking lot, and collided with a parked car.

The road remained blocked for nearly 6 hours as authorities conducted investigations. 

Suspecting the involvement of drugs and alcohol in the crash, WSP has charged the 26-year-old with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and child endangerment.
