Two Students and Drivers Injured After School Bus Rear-Ended Near Jefferson City
Jefferson City, MO (April 18, 2026) — A school bus carrying Jefferson City School District students was involved in a rear-end crash on State Route T Thursday morning that sent multiple people to the hospital.
The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. on April 16 at the intersection with Parkview Road, just outside Jefferson City. First responders arrived and found a 2009 Chevrolet Blazer had struck the back of a school bus that was in the process of picking up a student.
The bus was carrying 17 students along with the driver at the time of the impact. Emergency crews evaluated all passengers on scene.
Two students, a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals, where they remained in stable condition.
Both drivers involved, a 46-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man, also sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at nearby hospitals.
Authorities confirmed that the remaining 15 students were checked by EMS personnel and did not require hospital transport.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
