1 Person Dead in Plaster City UTV Accident on Superstition Off Highway Recreational Area near Wheeler Road

PLASTER CITY, CA (March 25, 2025) – On Saturday, a tragic UTV crash on Superstition Off Highway Recreational Area near Wheeler Road killed one person.

The incident happened in the Superstition Off Highway Recreational Area near Wheeler Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound black Can Am UTV collided with a westbound tan Can Am UTV.

Moreover, responders pronounced a 61-year-old female passenger of the black UTV, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the 64-year-old male driver of the black UTV to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries. 

Also, authorities said that the 26-year-old male driver of the Tan UTV sustained minor injuries and was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center with minor injuries while his 29-year-old female passenger suffered major injuries and was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
