According to Socorro Independent School District,, the incident occurred Wednesday at a marked crosswalk outside SSG Manuel R. Puentes Middle School, located on Tim Foster Street.

Reports say that the child was riding a bicycle through the crosswalk when an ATV entered the area and struck the student.
