Pedestrian Dead After Crash on U.S. 183 Near Anderson Mill Road in Austin
AUSTIN, TX (March 27, 2026) — A pedestrian died in a crash on U.S. 183 on Friday morning.
Officials said the collision happened just before 4 a.m. in the 13000 block of North U.S. 183. According to authorities, a pedestrian was crossing the roadway when a driver struck and killed them.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Law enforcement said the driver remained at the scene after the crash and is being tested for intoxication.
The Texas Department of Transportation said all southbound lanes of U.S. 183 at Anderson Mill Road closed at about 5 a.m. following the collision. Officials reopened the roadway at about 10:15 a.m. Friday.
The investigation remains ongoing.
