Suspected DUI Crash on Wheaton Way Injures 3 People [Bremerton, WA]

DUI Crash Sends Car Through Bremerton Grocery Store, Three Seriously Hurt

Bremerton, WA (February 10, 2026) — A suspected DUI crash on Wheaton Way, where a vehicle crashed into a Grocery Outlet, seriously injured three adults and led to the arrest of a Belfair woman on multiple charges.

Police said a 44-year-old woman drove a Porsche through the store’s front windows and across a checkout area, leaving debris and groceries scattered throughout the building.

First responders found a male employee on the ground with a broken leg after the vehicle pinned it between the car and a checkstand.

Meanwhile, two female customers also suffered severe injuries, including a skull fracture, a fractured pelvis, and a wrist injury. All three were taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale.

Authorities also reported minor scrapes and bruises involving three children inside the store.

According to investigators, the driver said she entered the parking lot after work and attempted to turn around. While trying to back out of a parking space, she mistakenly left the car in drive and accelerated into the storefront. Officers conducted a field sobriety test and noted signs of impairment. The driver later admitted to consuming part of a cannabis edible before the crash.

Police arrested the woman on suspicion of DUI and three counts of vehicular assault. She is scheduled to appear in Kitsap County Superior Court.

Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents

Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.

Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.

Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.

Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.

When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.

Impaired driving can have devastating consequences, even at low speeds. Drivers should always ensure they are fully alert and sober before getting behind the wheel to protect pedestrians, customers, and themselves from serious harm.
