Hit-and-Run Crash on Zarzamora Street Leaves 66-Year-Old Woman Injured [San Antonio, TX]

Hit-and-Run Driver Seriously Injures Woman Outside Her South San Antonio Home

San Antonio, TX (December 15, 2025) — A horrific hit-and-run crash on Zarzamora Street Saturday evening left a 66-year-old woman with serious injuries.

According to authorities, the shocking incident happened around 9:33 p.m. near the intersection of South Zarzamora Street and West Ansley Boulevard.

Reports say that a hit-and-run driver struck the victim in front of her home on the city’s South Side.

Police responded to reports of a pedestrian-vehicle crash. Officers found the woman, who lives at the residence, seriously hurt and transported her to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators said the woman was outside her home checking her vehicle when a driver in a 2011 Nissan Rogue suddenly hit her. The driver fled the scene without stopping to provide help.

Authorities have not made any arrests. Police said they plan to charge the suspect with a collision involving serious bodily injury once identified. The investigation remains ongoing.

Stop Pedestrian Accidents

To help avoid pedestrian accidents, drivers and pedestrians alike should be increasingly vigilant and watch out for each other. Drivers have to make sure to slow down in crowded areas, watch for people crossing, and not get distracted, like by texting.

Pedestrians should cross only where they are supposed to, heed the traffic lights, and attempt to establish eye contact with drivers before they step off the curb. If you’re walking at night, wear something bright or reflective, so you’re easier to see. Do not walk and use a phone, or wear headphones, on the road.

Drivers should always remain alert in residential areas, especially at night, and pedestrians should stay aware of nearby traffic. Leaving the scene of a crash can worsen injuries and carry serious legal consequences.
