LUBBOCK, TX (November 5, 2025) – Tuesday, a crippling 18-wheeler crash on Southeast Drive near Southeast Loop 289 injure 2 people.

The incident happened in the 7000 block of Southeast Drive near Southeast Loop 289.

Lubbock Police said two people were seriously injured in a crash involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck.

Officers responded around 6:41 a.m. to reports of a collision with injuries on Southeast Drive. Both drivers were taken to local hospitals — the 18-wheeler driver to Covenant Medical Center and the pickup driver to University Medical Center, according to police.

All lanes of Southeast Drive remain closed, and authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
