Injuries Reported in Van Nuys Auto Accident on Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street

VAN NUYS, CA (August 26, 2026) – Monday morning, a CHP officer sustained injuries in a crippling 2-vehicle crash on Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street.

The crash involving a CHP SUV and a Honda sedan happened at 2:57 a.m. on Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street.

The crash sent a CHP SUV into the wall of a building and left both drivers hospitalized with complaints of pain.

CHP Officer Sergio Garcia said the circumstances leading to the collision remained under investigation and had not yet been released.

The CHP officer and the driver of the Honda Accord were both transported by ambulance to hospitals for treatment.

Video from the scene showed significant damage to the Honda’s front end, while the CHP SUV had damage to its right front and left-side doors.
