Injuries Reported in Harlingen Auto Accident on US 83 and FM 2360

HARLINGEN, TX (September 22, 2026) – Monday afternoon, a crippling border patrol unit crash on US 83 and FM 2360 sent 5 people to the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 2:46 p.m. on US 83 and FM 2360 by Border Patrol lane

Five people were taken to the McAllen hospital after a crash involving a U.S. Border Patrol unit and a Chevrolet Traverse, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

DPS said the Border Patrol unit was traveling eastbound and entering the crossover median to proceed westbound on U.S. 83 when it failed to yield at a stop sign and struck the Traverse. The SUV was occupied by a driver and three children.

The Border Patrol agent and all four occupants of the Chevrolet were transported to a hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.

DPS is investigating the crash.
