Injuries Reported in San Diego Motorcycle Accident on Pearl Street and Eads Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 11, 2026) – Saturday night, a rider sustained injuries in a crippling dirt bike crash on Pearl Street and Eads Avenue.

The crash happened when a 28-year-old woman driving a 2019 Kia Sorento westbound on Pearl Street attempted to turn left onto southbound Eads Avenue, according to investigators.

At the same time, a 30-year-old man riding a 2014 Honda dirt bike was traveling eastbound on Pearl Street.

Witnesses told police the dirt bike rider was traveling at unsafe speeds and riding on the shoulder before entering the intersection, where he collided with the SUV.

Authorities said the rider was thrown from the bike and suffered serious injuries, including an intracranial hemorrhage, skull fracture, and ruptured eardrum. He was transported to a hospital, though his current condition has not been released.

The driver of the Kia remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
