Crippling DUI Crash on 6600 Cottonwood Road

Injuries Reported in Bakersfield Auto Accident on 6600 Cottonwood Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 25, 2026) – Sunday night, a Jeep driver was arrested after a crippling DUI crash on 6600 Cottonwood Road.

The incident happened at about 10:03 p.m. in the 6600 block of Cottonwood Road

Officers arrived to find a gray Honda sedan and a white Jeep SUV disabled in the roadway.

The Honda was driven by a woman with a juvenile passenger, while the Jeep was driven by a man. Both drivers suffered minor to moderate injuries, while the juvenile passenger sustained severe injuries. All were taken to a hospital.

Police said a preliminary investigation found the Jeep was traveling south on Cottonwood Road when it crossed into the opposite lane and collided with the northbound Honda.

Authorities determined the Jeep driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
