Injuries Reported in Palm Springs Multi-Vehicle Accident on Indian Canyon Drive and Via Escuela

PALM SPRINGS, CA (July 15, 2026) – Tuesday afternoon, a crippling DUI crash on Indian Canyon Drive and Via Escuela injured 3 people.

The incident involving four vehicles happened at about 5:20 p.m. on Indian Canyon Drive, just north of Via Escuela.

Three people were injured, including one critically, in a four-vehicle crash, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

Police said the preliminary investigation found that one vehicle changed lanes and sideswiped another vehicle. The impact caused the second vehicle to cross into opposing traffic, where it collided head-on with a third vehicle. A fourth vehicle was also involved in the crash.

Three people were transported to a local hospital with injuries, including one patient who was reported to be in critical condition.

Authorities arrested a 30-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man on suspicion of driving under the influence, alleging he caused the crash.

North Indian Canyon Drive was closed for several hours between East Racquet Club Road and East Via Escuela while investigators processed the scene.
