Woman Injured in Crippling Electric Scooter Crash on Sabado Tarde Road [Isla Vista, CA]

Injuries Reported in Isla Vista Auto Accident on Sabado Tarde Road and Camino del Sur

ISLA VISTA, CA (February 9, 2025) – Saturday night, a woman suffered injuries in a crippling electric scooter crash on Sabado Tarde Road.

The incident happened around 5:20 p.m. on Sabado Tarde Road and Camino del Sur.

Three women were riding a scooter when they collided with a white Jeep, according to Fire Department spokeswoman Karen Cruz-Orduña.

A 19-year-old woman was found unconscious in the roadway. She later regained consciousness but appeared disoriented. Firefighters and paramedics treated her at the scene before she was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

The other two scooter riders sustained minor scrapes and “road rash” but did not require medical treatment or transport.
The Jeep driver was not injured. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
