The incident involving two vehicles happened at about 3:41 p.m. between the 4900 block and 5100 block of State Route 20, an area adjacent to Ceago Vinegarden, a prominent winery located along the scenic Lake County corridor.

Emergency alerts from a Ford vehicle crash notification system and an iPhone crash detection feature reported the collision, prompting an immediate response.

Early dispatch information indicated a pickup truck and a green Volkswagen were involved in a head-on crash, with debris scattered across both lanes. One vehicle was reported overturned with heavy front-end damage, though all occupants had already exited the vehicle.

Multiple agencies were dispatched to the scene, with first responders arriving at approximately 3:46 p.m. CAL FIRE was requested, and a tow company from St. Helena was called.

Both lanes of Highway 20 were initially blocked. A reporting party later said the vehicles had been moved to the roadside, but emergency crews set up one-way traffic control in the westbound lane.
