Injuries Reported in Denver Auto Accident on US Highway 6 near Clear Creek Canyon

DENVER, CO (December 1, 2025) – Sunday night, a crippling head-on crash on US Highway 6 near Clear Creek Canyon sent two people to the hospital.

The incident happened on US Highway 6 near Clear Creek Canyon.

Crews arrived to find two badly damaged vehicles and a person trapped inside one of them. First responders were able to free the individual, and two occupants from that vehicle were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

According to a Sunday night update from the Colorado State Patrol, investigators have since located the driver of one of the vehicles, who is believed to have run from the scene.

The crash happened around 5:41 p.m. at milepost 263 and involved two Ram 1500 pickup trucks in a head-on collision. Early findings show the driver of a black Ram crossed into the westbound lane of US 6 and hit a white Ram. Troopers said the driver of the black truck fled on foot after the impact.

Golden Fire-Rescue expects Highway 6 near Cold Creek Canyon to be closed for most of the night while crews continue their work.
