Officer Injured in San Antonio Multi-Vehicle Accident near East Commerce and Navarro

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 20, 2026) – Friday night, a 16-year-old driver was arrested after a crippling multi-vehicle crash near East Commerce and Navarro.

The incident occurred at about 9:39 p.m. near East Commerce and Navarro.

Officers on bike patrol attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations, but the driver refused and sped off, causing one officer to fall.

As the vehicle continued through downtown, it ran a red light at North Flores and Pecan and collided with a Chevy Blazer and a Toyota, leaving the suspect’s vehicle disabled.

The driver then fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

The injured officer sustained minor injuries.
