1 Person Hurt in Palm Desert Pedestrian Accident on Varner Road near Washington Street

PALM DESERT, CA (April 23, 2024) – Monday morning, a crippling pedestrian crash on Varner Road near Washington Street injured one person.

The incident happened at around 9:00 a.m. on the eastbound lane of Varner Road, west of Washington Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian, and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders rushed the man to Desert Regional with major injuries.

Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
