Crippling Rear-End Crash on US Highway 54 and Gray Road Injures 1 [Cole County, MO]

1 Person Hospitalized in Cole County Auto Accident on US Highway 54 and Gray Road

COLE COUNTY, MO (May 3, 2026) – Friday night, a crippling rear-end crash on US Highway 54 and Gray Road injured one person.

The incident happened at around 6:26 p.m. on US Highway 54 and Gray Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2021 GMC Yukon rear-ended a 2025 Honda CR-V for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the GMC off the roadway, struck a highway sign, and a tree.

Moreover, responders airlifted the 57-year-old female driver of the GMC to a hospital with serious injuries. Also, officers said that a 37-year-old female passenger of the Honda sustained minor injuries in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the MSHP continued investigating the crash.
