LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (July 11, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a crippling wrong-way crash on East Highway 84 near Slaton injured 2 people.

The incident happened just after 9:00 a.m. on east Highway 84 near Slaton.

According to reports, as a pickup truck drove west in the eastbound lanes of the highway, an SUV was traveling in the crossover to turn onto FM 1585.

Reports noted that the SUV driver failed to notice the pickup traveling on the wrong side, and the two vehicles crashed on the road.

As a result, both drivers sustained serious injuries and were taken to UMC in Lubbock.
