Crystal Cruz Dies in 2-Car Collision on Stone Avenue

Tucson Woman Dies, Two Others Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Stone Avenue and Drachman Street

Tucson, AZ (June 5, 2025) — 34-year-old Crystal Cruz lost her life, and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Stone Avenue and East Drachman Street. Police said Crystal Marie Cruz was driving a Dodge Neon when it collided with a Toyota Highlander.

Emergency responders transported Cruz and her passenger, who was ejected during the crash, to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cruz later died from her injuries. Her passenger’s condition was not released.

The driver of the Toyota was unharmed, while a passenger in the SUV received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

Preliminary findings indicate the Toyota was making a left turn through a yellow traffic signal while traveling south on Stone Avenue when the northbound Dodge struck it. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
