Crystal Tena Killed in Head-On Crash on State Route 74 [Peoria, AZ]

Peoria, AZ (October 25, 2025) — On Thursday afternoon, 43-year-old Crystal Tena of Goodyear was killed in a head-on crash on State Route 74 near Lake Pleasant Road.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened on eastbound SR-74.

Reports say that a gray 2024 Dodge Ram and a gray 2023 Ford Bronco collided head-on shortly after noon, causing one vehicle to roll over.

The driver of the Bronco, identified as Tena was pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the Dodge Ram was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Both were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

Investigators believe the Dodge Ram driver was traveling eastbound on SR-74 and attempted to pass slower traffic when the collision occurred with Tena’s westbound vehicle. Authorities ruled out impairment as a factor.

State Route 74 was closed for several hours between 87th Avenue and New River Road as police investigated the scene and later reopened around 6 p.m. The Peoria Police Department continues to lead the investigation.
