Paralympic Cyclist Dory Selinger Dead on Alma Drive Collision [McKinney, TX]

McKinney, TX (April 17, 2026) – Dory Selinger, a celebrated Paralympic cyclist, was fatally injured in an Alma Drive collision Thursday morning.

Troopers said Selinger was hit by a vehicle while riding near the Sam Rayburn Tollway.

Selinger was known for riding the route daily, spending an hour and a half on his bike. 

He lost his leg in a traffic accident in the early 1990s, he started using a prosthetic leg since then, and even after retiring from professional competition, cycling was still a central part of his life.
