San Francisco, CA (April 15, 2026) – A driver in a black Mercedes sedan struck a cyclist in a hit-and-run crash on Mission Street.

The video, which appeared on Reddit on Wednesday, shows the Mercedes pulling out in front of a cyclist and accelerating into traffic. 

As the vehicle approached the corner of 8th and Mission streets, the driver made an illegal right turn against the light and cut directly into the path of a cyclist who was riding lawfully in the bike lane.

The cyclist slammed on his brakes in an effort to avoid the crash, but the Mercedes had already veered out of its lane and into the bike path. 

After hitting the cyclist, the driver did not stop to check on him. Instead, he continued down the road and left the scene.

Video of the incident appears to show the Mercedes driver as a man with a stubbly white beard wearing a cap and dark sunglasses. 

A second cyclist, who recorded the crash on a helmet camera, rode up immediately afterward to check on the victim.

Both cyclists appeared to be okay following the collision. KRON4.com contacted the San Francisco Police Department to determine whether anyone had reported the incident. 

At the time of the report, SFPD said no report had been filed.
