Three-Vehicle Crash Involving CAL Fire Truck Injures Three in Sonora

Sonora, CA (August 26, 2026) — A three-vehicle crash involving a CAL Fire pickup truck injured Daenara Watson and two others Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Fairview Lane and Stockton Street in Sonora.

The California Highway Patrol said a CAL Fire pickup driven by Thomas Fraser was traveling south on Stockton Street with its emergency lights activated while responding to an incident. At the intersection, 71-year-old Lori Cook of Sonora entered the roadway in a 2026 Subaru and collided with the emergency vehicle.

The CAL Fire truck then struck a 2011 Honda Pilot stopped on Fairview Lane. The Honda was driven by 30-year-old Watson of Sonora.

Fraser and Watson suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. Cook also sustained minor injuries and was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

Authorities reported that everyone involved wore seat belts, and investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.

When you’re behind the wheel, remember—you’re not alone out there. Every time you drive, you’re part of a community that shares the road. That’s why it’s so important to stay alert, drive responsibly, and respect others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you; it keeps your loved ones, neighbors, and even total strangers safe too.

If we all do our part—slow down, stay focused, and avoid distractions—we can make the roads safer for everyone.

And don’t forget the simplest safety tip of all: always buckle up. Whether you’re the driver or a passenger, wearing your seatbelt is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent serious injury in a crash. Sweet Lawyers encourages everyone to make it a habit—every trip, every time.

Always stay alert around emergency vehicles and give them room to respond safely. Even when emergency lights are active, check carefully before entering an intersection.
