Dale Collins Hospitalized After Truck Crashes into Home on FM Road 718

Tarrant County, TX (May 30, 2025)Dale Collins, the owner of Dale Collins Trucking sustained injuries in a crash on FM Road 718 when his truck crashed into a house.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Tarrant County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash near FM Road 718 and Newark Ranch Road.

When they arrived at the scene, they discovered that a dump truck had slammed through the wall of a home on the 1200 block of Melissa Cove.

According to deputies, the crash also involved a sedan that came to rest on nearby train tracks. Aerial footage from WFAA showed the dump truck overturned and lodged near the home’s garage.

The video also revealed dirt tracks and a damaged fence, suggesting the truck broke through the barrier before hitting the house.

Investigators determined that a northbound Mercedes on FM 718 suffered a tire blowout, causing the driver to veer into the oncoming lane.

The Mercedes collided with the dump truck, forcing it off the road. In an attempt to avoid a head-on crash, the dump truck driver swerved, overcorrected, and crashed through a backyard fence before slamming into the house, explained Capt. Rusty Peace of the Newark Fire Department.

Authorities identified the truck driver as Dale Collins, the owner of Dale Collins Trucking. His daughter, Chelsea Stone, recalled the terrifying moment. “We came into the neighborhood and I saw it rolled over.

I don’t think I ever ran so fast,” she said. She also mentioned that Collins’ dog, who was inside the truck during the crash, escaped injury.

Paramedics transported Collins to a local hospital with serious injuries, though deputies expect him to recover. “There was a laceration on his face. He’s going to be sore for a while,” Stone added.

EMS also evaluated and released both the Mercedes driver, who sustained minor injuries, and the homeowner.

Reflecting on the crash, Capt. Peace remarked, “In 27 years, this is only the third vehicle I’ve seen crash into a house.” Tarrant County officials continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

“I’m so glad he’s okay—and everybody else,” said Stone.
