40-Year-Old Daniel Carrico-Lynn Dies in DUI Crash on Del Monte Boulevard [Seaside, CA]

Seaside, CA (September 24, 2024) – 40-year-old Daniel Carrico-Lynn of Monterey County has died following a DUI Crash on Del Monte Boulevard Sunday night.

Investigators said a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Leon Torres of Watsonville was traveling 100 miles per hour on Del Monte Boulevard near the Sherwin-Williams store.

Troopers determined the vehicle went onto the island at Del Monte Boulevard and Fremont Boulevard and struck Daniel Carrico-Lynn who was on the island.

Torres was thrown from the vehicle and the car crashed through a raised partition for the left turn lane and overturned.

Unfortunately, Leon Torres and Daniel Carrico-Lynn were killed in the collision.

Moreover, officers said the multiple occupants from Watsonville were riding the vehicle during the collision and all of them were under the influence of alcohol.

Investigators said Torres had a suspended license and was on DUI probation. They said they’re still looking if the passengers will face charges.
